sorting out my closet!!

I have way too many clothes and I feel like I have nothing to wear. Like how all of us girls feel at one point or another. I’m getting ready for fall and honestly just getting frustrated. My girlfriend told me about her friend that was a stylist. I have looked into getting a stylist before, but normally they run 75.00 a hour and up. Quite frankly I am not going to pay someone that much to tell me to throw away my clothes, or what’s in and what’s not.
Curiosity got the best of me so I called Brady and just asked her a few questions about how much she charges and things like that. Her whole goal is that everyone needs to shop there closet before going anywhere to shop. She said she was 25 an hour and I thought you know what why not. I was sold.
I was super excited to get rid of some of my clothes only because I have worn them so many times and I needed to cleanse out my closet. She helped me with that, but also taught me how to layer so my clothes make me look more professional, which we all know I need, haha.

I love how Brady helped me make my closet like a little boutique so it will help me stay organized and keep it that way. I would have never guessed it would have taken this long but I ended up hiring her for 7 hours and it was way worth it. Plus in her fee she includes to send you different outfit ideas whenever you want. You can clearly see this is her passion and I love how she makes it reasonable for everyone’s budget. I know to some people 25 an hour is a lot but also just think how much money you will save on an outfit that doesn't work, and the time you will save because you actually have looks to piece together. I just want to thank her for all her amazing help, she is simply the best, thanks again.

So check out my looks and also call Brady 210-483-0210. I have posted some pictures as an example of what her amazing talent has done for my closet!

Date night with my son

I know that Beauty and the Beast is more of a girl movie but what can I say my son loves it haha. It’s a little girly but there’s nothing wrong with a boy that likes Disney musicals. We went to the Beauty and the Beast 8:00 p.m. showing last Friday, I know a little late. We went to the Rain Forest CafĂ© and I figured that since it was a Friday no big deal. Well, I was completely wrong! We had to leave after “be our guest” song because my 5 year kept falling asleep. It was an hour into the show at least. I am not used to this at all, first time mommy to a kindergartner. Lesson was learned we will only be going to matinee shows. That was $120 downs the drain. However I am looking forward to the Lion King that is coming to the Majestic Theater in December. At least I know our seats will be worth it. So happy my seats will be the same for the next showing. Mommy lesson to a mother of a child in school Friday nights are an early night, to be safe Saturday early so my son isn’t falling asleep in the middle of a great performance.

Sunday Brunch

I have been so crazy getting my makeup line up going for the holidays and trying to be there more for my 5 year old son, Aiden. I just haven’t found the time to get my blog posts up. I am finally getting the swing of things and I am determined to find the best Sunday brunch places in San Antonio. I had many favorites when I lived in California, which is still one of the things that I miss the most. So this Sunday I made it my mission to search out some places that I have not tried before, so bring it on San Antonio!

I have heard of about these Mexican food Sunday brunches before but a sad fact is I have never been. So I decided to try one. I went to one called El Jarro and I must say it was good. Great place and the best part for me is that they have a pretty good wine list which is something that I didn’t always find in other Mexican restaurants. But for me that was just wonderful I could get some of my favorite champagnes here a complete bonus. I am definitely coming back and for the price it was great. So if you are ever in San Antonio give them a try. It had a great atmosphere and I had great company, just a prefect way for me to get started on my busy Sunday.

La Salon Riiko

I was not happy with the time frame of the last salon and I was ready to just give up on having cute nails. But thanks to my girlfriend Traci who referred me to Riiko at La Salon Riiko. Riiko is really friendly and is from Wai Kee Kee Hawaii. Her design and attention to her customers is what I believe sets her apart from any other salon here in San Antonio.
At first I was a little hesitant to pay $60.00 for a set of nails, many of her clients say it last for 3-4 weeks which is what really impressed me, and so I decided to give it a shot. From the beginning I was impressed with her technique, she seemed to have a talent I had never seen before. The customer service was outstanding and the whole appointment from start to finish lasted only 45 minutes which is perfect for my busy schedule. I was also served champagne which I absolutely love.
The gel she used really stood out to me. When I asked her what it was she told me that it is special ordered from Japan and her salon is the only one in the U.S that uses it.

La Salon Riiko is opened 10 a.m-7p.m, Tuesday-Saturday.

I highly recommend you make an appointment. Riiko is a real artist and once this little secret leaks out she will booked for months in advanced.

Lil spa room

I don’t take care of my skin as much as I should. You would think being an Esthetician that I would know better, but I don't. I normally get a facial once every few month at a spa. I have always felt spa facials are limited, however, I decide to go to the Lil spa room. I have known April for a while and I have gone once before but once for a 45 min peel. I decided to get the works of the Relax & Rejuvenate Facial which is an 80 min facial that includes leg, feet and shoulder massage. I also added on the Collagen Treatment Mask and galvanic treatment that's supposed to firm and tighten your skin. These days I have been seeing wrinkles in my chest and crow’s feet around my eyes. She spent extra time working on these areas. I expressed I want to get a facial every 6 weeks now. I think my skin is feeling my age haha. After the facial I felt amazing. It was a great experience am definitely going to treat myself again. If interested go and check it out at www.shinebeautifully.me

Lleanna's Bachelorette Auction

Lleanna's Bachelorette Auction at Toast last Thursday night was amazing!!

All the bachelorettes looked amazing.  Lleanna Elizondo Urest put on an amazing event, she pulled it off in 2 weeks but it looked as though she been planning it for months!!!  These event are not easy to put together but she and her committee did an amazing job!!!

Shout out to Angela Stutt for helping to pick all the lovely Bachelorettes. The beautiful bachelorettes worked it last night and raised over 20 thousand dollars for local charity Family Endeavors!!!!  Family Endeavors is a nonprofit organization who provides financial help for children, veterans, those struggling with disabilities, and their families.  I had the honor to meet the CEO of Family Endeavors, Travis Pearson, who has been putting together DWTS San Antonio since 2011.  Lleanna has been practicing her dance routine for the last few months and is ready for her dancing debut on the 27th of this month. This amazing lady is defiantly giving back to the community! She even bid at her own auction to help raise even more money for Family Endeavors.  We can’t wait to see her dance move on the stage!

Anyone that wants to donate to Family Endeavors or get a table to see all of the San Antonio stars including Lleanna Urest, Rita Verreos, Fred Bosshardt, Vanessa Macias and many more please go to http://www.familyendeavors.org/index.php/dwts-san-antonio-2014

Nail Art

I am super busy, so when it comes to my nails I either do French or Pink Tips. I totally need to keep up with the nail trends. I went to a new nail salon, VIP Nails, and I upgraded to the Honey and Lavender pedi.

It was Amazing! They used hot rocks, extra exfoliation, hot towels... the works! The whole time I googled different nail designs and I decided on this one. The down side is I had no idea how long it was going to take. Three hours later I was still in the chair! I do not know if this is normal but if it is I cannot regularly spend that much time doing my nails. I used to be envious of my friends who always had cute nails. Well, now I am not. If it takes that long to do your nails, as a working mom, I would rather spend my time doing others things. The time invested in such a small thing could be better used elsewhere in my busy schedule, Even though it is so cute, I do not yet know if it is for me. I may be a little too picky and ADD for this!

How long is the average time for a nail art session?
